What is a recompilation?

Static recompilation translates a game's original machine code ahead of execution into a form that can be compiled for another system. The project also needs to adapt graphics, audio, controls and the game's other hardware dependencies.

Original game files

Many projects do not distribute the original game's assets. You need to supply files from your own copy and follow the documented version and region requirements.

Before you install

  • Check operating systems and CPU architectures.
  • Confirm the required original game edition.
  • Read installation or source-build instructions.
  • Review known limitations and the release's stage.

The recompilation label does not guarantee performance, complete gameplay or tested compatibility. Evaluate each project's sources.
