About this project

XenonRecomp translates the Xbox 360 PowerPC code to C++, while XenosRecomp translates Xenos shaders to HLSL. The port targets the Xbox 360 game, not the PS3 executable.

Compatibility

Windows, Linux and macOS are the documented targets. On Steam Deck, the file picker may need an initial Desktop Mode launch; the whole game-file installation can be completed there.

Documented support and independently tested compatibility are different. AllRecomps has not run these games.

Development progress

The development warning in the consulted README takes priority over assuming readiness from tags or build instructions. No gameplay completeness or stable-release claim is made here.

Known limitations

The README explicitly warns that the project is under active development, is not meant for public use and will not receive support until an official release.

Original-game bugs are intentionally retained with limited exceptions. External frame-rate limiters/overlays can cause problems; input translation such as DS4Windows or Steam Input can interfere with full PlayStation-controller recognition.

Getting started

Provide game files from your own legally acquired Xbox 360 copy. PlayStation 3 files are explicitly unsupported because their formats and corresponding code differ.

The maintainers say that builds will only be distributed on the official repository's Releases page, never third-party sites, Discord servers or update tools.

Some projects require files from your own copy of the original game. Follow the official instructions.
