About this project

The loader runs the original PS4 code; the runtime implements system functions and the renderer translates GPU commands to Vulkan. This is classified as a compatibility layer, despite the repository’s port terminology.

Compatibility

Documented support and independently tested compatibility are different. AllRecomps has not run these games.

Development progress

The maintainer reports a complete playthrough at native 1080p with the 240 FPS engine setting, plus working audio, saves and remappable input. That result applies to the documented configuration and is not independently verified here.

Known limitations

The README reports broken textures at some non-native render resolutions. Its Linux section says temporal upscalers were temporarily removed. Do not assume these graphics options work in every build.

Getting started

Use your own decrypted PS4 game folder containing eboot.bin, sce_module and sce_sys. Tested IDs are CUSA01623 and CUSA01715, versions 01.00 and 01.02. Extract the Windows release, choose that folder in the launcher and preserve its user folder when updating.

Back up saves before importing them. The documented import supports shadPS4 saves for the same PS4 title ID; RPCS3 saves belong to the PS3 version and are incompatible.
