About this project

GSRecomp covers both GBA Golden Sun games with a hybrid model: statically generated game code and an interpreter for newly discovered paths until compilation. The launcher handles game selection and local preparation.

Compatibility

Supply your own supported USA/Europe .gba ROM; the launcher validates the game hash. Windows and Linux/Steam Deck are documented. Linux needs SDL2 and OpenGL support; neither original game data nor saves are supplied.

Documented support and independently tested compatibility are different. AllRecomps has not run these games.

Development progress

Both Golden Sun titles are public previews. Their launcher performs local preparation and exposes settings and diagnostic collection.

Known limitations

Both games are public previews. Loading a state into the expanded view can leave artifacts, and The Lost Age still has scenery/effect issues. Back up ROMs, Saves and Controls directories before replacing the package.

Getting started

Extract the appropriate official package, open GoldenSunLauncher.exe on Windows or the corresponding Linux launcher, select a game and point to your ROM. Initial and some post-update launches compile locally. F1 opens settings and F12 collects a report.
