About this project

The project runs the original x86-64 PS4 code through a game-specific runtime based on related PS4 ports and shadPS4’s video core. It is cataloged as a compatibility layer rather than static CPU recompilation.

Compatibility

The author reports gameplay on Nobara/Fedora 44. Linux x86-64 packages require glibc 2.39+; Windows 10/11 64-bit packages are built automatically but explicitly have not been play-tested. Vulkan 1.3 is required, with 6 GB VRAM recommended.

An AVX-capable CPU is still required. The project documents instruction rewrites for some missing instruction sets on older or Intel CPUs; this does not establish performance on every processor.

Documented support and independently tested compatibility are different. AllRecomps has not run these games.

Development progress

The maintainer describes the game as playable and in development, with testing through Go to Longhouse, plus working saves, audio and motion/touchpad input simulation. This is not a complete-game compatibility claim.

A public non-prerelease package was verified: v2026.10.15-941c01a. Its availability does not establish a stable build or a complete-game test.

Known limitations

The README reports unstable performance and flickering fog, water and lighting effects. New shaders can cause stutter; the author’s reported RTX 2060 measurements must not be treated as a general PC performance guarantee.

Getting started

Supply your own decrypted USA CUSA00223 base game 1.00 merged with update 1.07, including the update’s eboot.bin and game modules. The documented game data occupies about 33 GB and no firmware files are required.

Extract the platform’s release, open the inFAMOUS Second Son launcher, select the game folder and language and choose Play. Insert opens the runtime menu; on controllers without motion sensors, L3+R3 enables simulated sensor mode for graffiti.

Some projects require files from your own copy of the original game. Follow the official instructions.
