About this project
This ps3recomp-based project translates Demon’s Souls PPU/SPU code to C and links replacement PS3 services with a Direct3D 12 renderer. Its documented player coverage reaches early Boletaria.

Compatibility
Use your own USA BLUS30443 dump. The source workflow requires Windows 10/11/D3D12, Visual Studio/LLVM Clang, CMake/Ninja, Python and Git Bash; RPCS3 decrypts your EBOOT.BIN. The SPURS path additionally requires your own decrypted firmware libsre.prx.

Documented support and independently tested compatibility are different. AllRecomps has not run these games.
Development progress
The source reports title, character creation, tutorial, Nexus and Boletarian Palace 1-1 with saves and audio. That is early-level coverage, not a complete-game compatibility guarantee.

Known limitations
The full campaign is not validated. Transparent effects can disappear for single frames; high FPS can change scene timing and physics above 60 is untested. Keep the original cap when diagnosing behavior and never include firmware/game files in public reports.

Getting started
Follow the ordered README build steps with the documented ps3recomp fork: decrypt locally, analyze/lift PPU, apply boot patches, generate SPU jobs and compile. Set PS3VFSROOT in your local configuration and use tools/des/play.sh. This is a multi-step developer setup.

Some projects require files from your own copy of the original game. Follow the official instructions.
