About this project
elripalda ports Liberty Recompiled, through the LibertyRecompAndroid fork and ReXGlue, to PlayStation 5. The supported games are GTA IV, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. The source is Xbox 360; PS5 is the destination, not the original game platform.

Compatibility
Requires a PS5 that can run homebrew from /data/homebrew/, about 17 GB free, your own USA Xbox 360 GTA IV ISO and Title Update 8. Episodes require their own Xbox 360 packages. The documentation does not establish a general firmware compatibility matrix.

A 120 Hz display mode and VRR are supported, with a separate 40 FPS mode for 120 Hz televisions. These are not a claim of 120 FPS gameplay. Documented interface languages are English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.

Documented support and independently tested compatibility are different. AllRecomps has not run these games.
Development progress
The public v1.0 release was published on 21 October 2026. The maintainer reports a 60 FPS cap at 4K, with the busiest streets dropping into the high 40s and 50s. These are author reports, not an AllRecomps benchmark.

The latest non-prerelease GitHub release observed is v1.0. A release does not establish stability, complete gameplay or tested platform support.

Known limitations
Only the USA disc with Title Update 8 is documented as supported. A locked 60 FPS in the busiest streets is a v1.1 goal, not an existing guarantee. Moving Frame Generation out of experimental status is also future work in the v1.0 release notes.

Getting started
For manual setup, extract PPSA94004.zip and copy PPSA94004 to /data/homebrew/ on the PS5. Put your USA ISO and Title Update 8 in /data/homebrew/PPSA94004/install/, launch the app and press X on Home. The files can be removed after installation. A running payload loader speeds up installation; the guide also describes the slower path without it.

Install episodes from their own package through the Episodes page. Import your Xbox 360 saves from the app’s import/ directory using the Saves page. Updating replaces the app folder while the documented game installation, saves and settings remain. Backups can be managed through the hub.

Source builds target PS5 from Linux/Ubuntu 24.04 with Clang/LLD 19, CMake, Ninja, the PS5 payload toolchain and the specified DXC version. Linux is a build host here, not a gameplay platform for this PS5 variant.
