Compatibility

Supply your own Ninja Gaiden Black disc image. The guide documents Linux, a Windows build cross-compiled from Linux, and native Apple Silicon packaging with MoltenVK. Windows testing includes Proton and a Windows 11 VM, with real-PC reports still requested.

Documented support and independently tested compatibility are different. AllRecomps has not run these games.

Development progress

The guide documents desktop packaging and graphics tracing, with an explicit list of arcade, ultrawide and shadow-rendering issues.

Known limitations

The arcade cabinet in Han’s bar closes the game because NinjaTrilogy.xbe is not recompiled. Ultrawide edges can pop in; extreme resolution/antialiasing settings can flicker shadows. Save before testing the cabinet and keep graphics traces for bug reports.

Getting started

For source setup, fetch the documented runtime dependencies, run tools/pipeline.sh with your ISO and build with CMake/Ninja/Clang. Use the platform packaging script where applicable. macOS builds need the listed Homebrew dependencies; runtime libraries are bundled by packaging.
