About this project

The project translates Wii U PowerPC code ahead of time and reimplements the required Cafe OS interfaces. It forks ZeldaWWHDRecomp and draws through deko3d on Switch.

Compatibility

Supported source data is the USA or European Wii U version 0, without the game update. The runtime checks code/cking.rpx. A GameCube disc alone does not supply the HD game files.

Documented support and independently tested compatibility are different. AllRecomps has not run these games.

Development progress

Official release observed: v0.4.7. This records a public project release, not proof of complete gameplay or a ready-to-run Switch game package.

The maintainer documents handheld and docked play, audio, saves, save states, touchscreen inventory and gyro aiming. Testing covers selected islands, sea areas and warp destinations rather than an independently certified complete campaign.

The latest non-prerelease GitHub release observed is v0.4.7. A release does not establish stability, complete gameplay or tested platform support.

Known limitations

Frame rate varies in demanding sailing scenes and first-use shaders/textures can stutter. Reported clock and resolution figures describe the maintainer’s test conditions, not guaranteed results on every console.

Getting started

The Windows installer prepares dependencies and builds from your own WUA, WUX/WUD with required keys, or extracted Wii U folder. Public installer releases are not evidence that the repository supplies a ready-made game NRO.

Place your locally generated wwhd.nro and game/code, content and meta under /switch/wwhd/. Launch in full-memory title mode. Preserve save/, states/ and settings.ini when updating.
