About this project

WiiCompiled translates the game’s PowerPC code to C++, with native replacements for Wii services. Documented features include 4:3/16:9/cinematic ratios, texture replacement, automatic save backups and button/stick alternatives for Wii shaking and tilting.

Compatibility

Needs Windows 10/11 64-bit, Direct3D 12 or Vulkan, an unmodified USA RWLE01 disc and around 3 GB for the build plus 4.4 GB for disc extraction; 16 GB RAM is recommended during compilation. The release includes its tools and can install without internet.

The author reports boot, intro, menus, save/load, world map, tested levels and audio. These observations are limited to the areas tested; the first public release is explicitly a testing build.

Known limitations

Full playthrough, all bosses and the 12 story movies remain to be tested. DualSense accelerometer support and 120 FPS interpolation are experimental. Separate audio-channel volumes and a supplied HD texture pack are still to do; texture-pack support does not mean a pack is included.

Getting started

Extract WarioRecomp’s release ZIP, open WarioLauncher.exe and choose Install. Select your own supported disc image or extracted sys/files folder; the launcher extracts and compiles locally, estimated at 15–45 minutes, then enables PLAY. Save backups are in Play/UserData/SaveBackups.
