About this project
PS2Recomp translates the main executable and God Hand’s 81 loaded code overlays into C++; graphics, audio and I/O are provided by the runtime. Function names and boundaries come from LucasPicoli’s matching decompilation.

Compatibility
The setup guide targets Windows 10/11 with a modern GPU, Visual Studio 2022 C++ Build Tools and Python 3.10+. It accepts only the player’s own USA God Hand ISO, serial SLUS-21503, checked against DISC_HASHES.md.

Documented support and independently tested compatibility are different. AllRecomps has not run these games.
Development progress
The author’s October 20 progress table reports stage 1 and 2 completed and stage 3 played past Gorilla Mask and Mad Midget Five, compared with a real PS2. Fighting, God Reel, casino, cutscenes and save/load are documented.

Known limitations
The rest of stage 3, stages 4–8, final bosses, ending and Coliseum have not been played through. Initial shader preparation can leave a black screen for minutes and new effects can stutter. No public release was listed during review: this is a source-build project.

Getting started
Clone the repository, put your supported ISO in game/, run the documented build.py generate, SNR2 extraction/module generation, build.py modules and build.py build sequence. Start-God-Hand.cmd launches it; saves are in build/port/bin/memcards and controls in controls.ini.
